In an estate home with custom cabinetry in the study, the pantry, and the primary closet, a wall bed cannot arrive looking like it came from somewhere else. That is a solvable problem, and it is easier when the house is still in progress, because the cabinetmaker’s stain samples, profiles, and hardware are all still on site and available to match against.

So the practical advice for Prosper is to loop us in while the joinery is being made rather than after. We will work from the same samples, match profiles and finish, and pick hardware from the same family, and where the builder’s own cabinetmaker wants to build the surround we are happy to supply the mechanism and the bed and let them case it in.
